Privacy for your Instagram connection

What stays on your Mac, what passes through Connect, and what goes to your AI provider.

Effective

1. What this notice covers

This notice covers the SparkBridge Instagram connector and its Connect setup service, provided by SparkBridge AI, LLC. It does not replace the privacy notices for Instagram, Claude, or other services you choose to use.

The connector lets an authorized Instagram professional account work with a local MCP client such as Claude Desktop. Available reads and actions depend on your installed version, Meta permissions and the approvals configured in your AI client.

2. Information involved

  • Instagram information: account ID, username, account type, granted permissions and credential expiry. Requested tools may retrieve media, captions, insights, comments, conversations, messages and participant information that Meta makes available.
  • Your instructions and actions: account or media identifiers, text, recipients and media URLs supplied for the tools you use. Requested publishing, replies or messages are sent to Meta; Meta may fetch media from the URLs you provide.
  • Connect and support information: sign-in identity, device identifiers and labels, enrollment approvals, connection status, timestamps and security or recovery records. We also receive information you choose to send us for support.

We use this information to provide the connection and requested functions, confirm the permitted account, prevent misuse, support recovery and respond to requests.

3. Where processing happens

  • During Connect: you sign in and consent through the relevant providers. Our Cloudflare-hosted Connect service processes the authorization code, access credential and account/grant information to set up the connection. The credential handoff to your Mac is encrypted. Connect uses browser cookies and session identifiers for sign-in and pairing.
  • On your Mac: the installed credential is stored in your macOS login Keychain. Normal connector API requests go from your Mac directly to Meta. Local files hold installation and connection metadata, recovery state and backups.
  • In Claude or another AI client: requested Instagram results are returned to that client and its provider. They may become part of chats, outputs or exports. Their processing, retention and model-improvement settings depend on your provider, account and settings.

The connector itself does not keep an Instagram message or comment-history database. This does not mean that your AI client, exports, support correspondence or service providers retain nothing.

4. Retention and removal

Local credentials, previous credentials, installation files and backups can remain after reconnecting or removing a connection. Disconnecting is not automatic deletion or Meta authorization revocation.

Connect uses short-lived authorization sessions and encrypted handoffs. Their availability limits do not erase all associated records on a timer. Enrollment, approval, issuance and security/recovery records are retained; this pilot has no general automatic deletion schedule for those records.

Hosting, identity and AI providers may also retain their own logs, history and backups under their policies and settings. We do not promise immediate erasure of every copy. See the data-deletion instructions for the separate steps and manual request process.

5. Your choices and requests

You can stop using the tools, review your AI client's tool approvals, revoke the app's authorization in Instagram, remove local credentials and copies, or request review of SparkBridge-held records. These are separate actions; one does not automatically complete the others.

Contact us with privacy questions or requests concerning information we hold. We may need to verify your authority over the relevant account before acting. Do not send passwords, access tokens, Keychain contents or full client configuration backups.

6. Other providers' notices

Review Meta's Privacy Policy, Anthropic's Privacy Policy and the terms and data controls for your Claude account, and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy. Other AI clients or services you enable have their own terms. Provider processing can occur in countries different from yours.
